Youngest Business School in India to receive the Award
Adding to its impressive list of awards and accolades, Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna (CIMP) has been conferred upon the prestigious International Arch of Europe (IAE) Award in the Gold Category, for its overall quality and excellence in education at a function in Frankfurt, Germany. Dr V Mukunda Das, Ex Director, CIMP, who received the award at the glittering function on April 28, 2013, said that CIMP has become the youngest business school in India to be awarded in the “Total Quality Management” category. Only some top Indian companies such as Indian Oil Corporation Limited (No. 83 in Forbes Global 2000), Reliance Industries Ltd (No. 99) and NTPC Ltd (No.337) have been recipients of this award in the past. Leading foreign companies that feature in the list, include ArcelorMittal (Luxembourg), Operadora VIPS, S. de R.L. de C.V., part of Walmart (ranked No. 2 in Fortune 500 list), SAFCO (Saudi Arabia), Korea Electric Power Co. (KEPCO) and COFCO (China). The IAE awards have been set up by Europe-based Business Initiative Directions (BID), a leading private organisation having members from 118 countries. CIMP, a brainchild of Bihar Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar, was earlier conferred upon the Dr. J J Irani Award for excellence in management education (Mumbai, November 2012) also, Dr Das received an award by Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), in recognition of his significant contributions to leadership development (Mumbai, December 2012). CIMP also ranks among India’s top 50 management institutes.
