About CGC

Career Guidance Centre (CGC) is an innovative initiative of Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna (CIMP) dedicated to supporting students from the Backward Class (BC) and Extremely Backward Class(EBC) communities of Bihar. The Centre operates under the Chief Minister's Professional Course Guidance & Promotion Scheme, an initiative of the Department of Backward Class & Extremely Backward Class Welfare, Government of Bihar. The scheme is implemented by the Department of Backward Class & Extremely Backward Class Welfare, Patna, and is financially supported by the Bihar State Backward Class Finance & Development Corporation, Patna. Its primary objective is to provide free coaching, career guidance, mentoring, and academic support to eligible BC and EBC students preparing for CAT, MAT, management entrance examinations, and other job-oriented competitive examinations, thereby enhancing their educational and employment opportunities.

Applications for CAT, MAT, and Management Services preparation can be submitted through both Offline and Online modes.

Eligibility for Free Coaching

Applicants must:

  • Be permanent residents of Bihar.
  • Belong to the Backward Class (BC) or Extremely Backward Class (EBC) category.
  • Have a family annual income (from all sources) of not more than ₹3,00,000.
  • Meet the minimum educational qualification and age criteria prescribed for the respective competitive examination.

Seat Distribution

  • Each coaching batch will have 60 students (total 120 seats in two batches).
  • 40% seats are reserved for Backward Class (BC) candidates.
  • 60% seats are reserved for Extremely Backward Class (EBC) candidates.
  • Within both categories, 33% reservation is available for female candidates.
  • If seats in one category remain vacant, they may be allotted to candidates from the other category.
